Active Sync
- (root) apt-get install synce-kde synce-serial synce-dccm
- Use the default settings incl. ttyUSB0
- raki
- Select vdccm
- Plug the PDA on USB
- (root) synce-serial-start
Be sure that ~/.synce/scripts/dccm.sh is a copy of /usr/share/apps/raki/scripts/dccm.sh and not vdccm.sh
When disconnecting, make sure the ppp daemon exits otherwise you have to kill it to start synce-serial-start again.
Hotplug
To launch automatically synce-serial-start via udev:
- Create /etc/udev/rules.d/z30_synce.rules with:
# udev rules file for synce BUS!="usb", ACTION!="add", KERNEL!="ttyUSB*", GOTO="synce_rules_end" # Dell Axim X30 SYSFS{idVendor}=="413c", SYSFS{idProduct}=="4003", RUN+="/usr/bin/synce-serial-start" LABEL="synce_rules_end"

To play a sound on dis/connection:
- synce-sound install
