This explains how to install the proprietary driver fglrx for ATI videocards in order to obtain good 3D acceleration
- apt-get install fglrx-driver
- apt-get install fglrx-kernel-2.6.15-1-686-pte_8.24.8-1+2.6.15-9_i386.deb (compiled for your kernel)
- rmmod radeon
- rmmod drm
- modprobe fglrx
- If modprobe succeeded, add fglrx in the list of modules (/etc/modules)
